IN MY OPINION
IN MY OPINION
In my opinion, health care is broken.
In my opinion, the health and wellness industry lacks clarity.
In my opinion, you deserve better.
This is not the kind of health blog you’re used to.
I’m a literary researcher first and a clinician second. Even in my practitioner education program, The Confident Clinician we work to build effective readers-of-research before we do anything. So why on earth did I call my blog “In My Opinion”?
In research, every single concluding statement is some variation on the phrase “it depends”. Because in science, we know what we know right now, but something might be discovered tomorrow that teach us more. In fact, the people, products and services that claim they are absolutely certain of something are probably not as right as they say they are. We don’t know what we don’t know.
I have been reading research on health for 20 years. You deserve to learn from my experience from treating tens of thousands of patients. I have strong, well informed ideas about your health and healthcare. My blog is a place where I can share not only the research, but what I think about it. My opinion, with the evidence to back it all up.
So here is In My Opinion.
I want you to know that research is out there to support your health and I want to make it accessible, easy to understand and relevant to your life.
I want you to know that you aren’t alone, and I want you to benefit from the thousands of people I’ve walked along their health journey with.
In My Opinion is actually for you. It’s about feeling like your health matters, that someone cares enough to listen to you and that you can show up in your life the way you deserve to.
My opinion. Our strategy. Your results.

PMS is the worst. I know first-hand.I actually had my own PMS and PMDD pointed out to me by my best friend (who is also a Naturopathic Doctor) and I was mortified that my mood fluctuations were so obvious to him and not to me. This was my job after all, and I still...

Sleep trackers are a cool addition to your health plan if the information they give you helps shape and shift your daily routine and choices and gives you a benchmark and something to measure over time. There has been much debate over the accuracy of each sleep...

When we are science minded and evidence informed, we finish most conclusions with the sentence “it depends”. Because in science, we know what we think we know right now, but studies might come out the very next day that teach us more. The people, products and services that claim they are absolutely sure that what they are saying is fact are probably wrong, and probably not evolving their knowledge to keep up with the curve of new research.
But I also have been reading research on health for 20 years. I’ve helped tens of thousands of patients. I have strong, well informed ideas about your health and healthcare. My blog is a place where I can share not only the research, but what I think about it. My opinion, with the evidence to back it all up.
So here is In My Opinion.
When I sat down to think about how I wanted to support you with my writing I wanted to accomplish two things
- I want you to know that research is out there to support your health and I want to make it accessible, easy to understand and relevant to your life.
- I want you to know that you aren’t alone, and I want you to benefit from the thousands of people I’ve walked along their health journey with.
I wanted a place I could write my own thoughts about health and wellness as a woman AND share the evidence for what really matters.
Enjoy. We are going to go far together.
